ACT Fall/Winter 2010
Carnegie Pollak ACT Blitz and Blast Courses
ACT Blitz and Blast Course Descriptions
The ACT Blitz is a two session course designed to orient students to layout, subject matter and time constraints of this test. The classes will cover how the test is administered, which subject categories and sub-categories appear on the test, and how the rigorous time limits affect test-taking strategies. The classes will also afford an opportunity to take entire sections of the test under timed conditions. The ACT course covers all sections of the test: English, Reading, Math and Science.
The ACT Blast is an intensive four session review for seniors who have previously taken the ACT, and are planning to take the September 11th exam. The classes will identify and target the portions of the exam that offer the greatest opportunities for improvement, and provide content and strategies to achieve this improvement. During the Blast, students will also have the opportunity to take a fully-timed exam, as well as several portions of other exams.
