Carnegie Pollak Test Prep has been preparing students for the college entrance exams in Connecticut and New York since 1984. Our goal is to maximize the scores of each and every student.
We strive towards this goal through a skillful presentation of the concepts, strategies, and timing necessary to reach one's target score. We aim to minimize the element of surprise so each student knows exactly what to expect from the test.
We pride ourselves on having teachers and tutors who don't just know the test cold themselves, but who also possess a unique ability to convey the subject matter to students of all ability levels.

One of the hallmarks of our SAT preparation program at Carnegie Pollak is the ability of our teachers to hold the attention of the students by creating a lively learning atmosphere in which the test becomes more of a challenge and less of a burden. Without fail, a handful of students will show up to the first SAT class with a sense of impending misery written all over their faces, and year after year these same glum faces emerge from the first meeting having somehow enjoyed the class they had been dreading.
Carnegie Pollak's class schedule for each session is only the starting point in terms of the time we dedicate to each student. We provide all of our students with as many hours of instruction as they can possibly fit into a busy high school schedule and, as such, the Carnegie Pollak program is renowned for offering countless extra help sessions open to all of our students. During these extra help sessions, students put in additional work with the test, review and reinforce previously covered material, and gain access to valuable one-on-one instruction with our teachers.
Since the course began in 1984 we have always felt that we should either succeed or fail based upon our reputation. Because of this, we have chosen not to advertise or send unsolicited mailings. We therefore encourage anyone considering our SAT I & II, PSAT or ACT classes to speak to guidance counselors, former students, and parents of those former students about our courses.
